Skyport Tycoon: cutting your delay rate
Skyport Tycoon lives and dies by passenger flow, and a messy terminal will quietly wreck your numbers no matter how many gates you build.
Start by minimizing the walking distance between security, gates, and the main concourse. Long crisscrossing paths create bottlenecks that cascade into delays during busy periods. A cleaner layout almost always beats just adding more gates.
Staff scheduling is the other half. Overstaffing bleeds money, understaffing creates queues. We found a rhythm by watching the morning rush, timing staff to peak and off-peak windows instead of a flat schedule.
When delays creep up, resist the urge to expand. Nine times out of ten the fix is a layout redesign, not more concrete. Tear up a bad terminal early before it's expensive to change.
